Phoenix Festival of the Arts is now seeking volunteers on December 9-10, 2023. Volunteers who work shifts during the Festival on Saturday and Sunday will receive a FREE festival t-shirt to keep and all volunteers will have access to water, fruit, and snacks during their shift. Volunteer opportunities include Festival Set-Up/Tear Down, Volunteer Check-In, Greeting and Directing Visitors, Vendor Relief, and Family Fun Zone!

Description of Assignments
Set Up and Tear Down
You will be assisting with set up and tear down of the exhibitor area, placing tables and chairs, and arranging booth and event signage. Set up and tear down will occur directly on the festival grounds at Hance Park. Please wear closed-toe shoes for this position.
Volunteer Check-In Desk
You will be checking volunteers in and out of shifts. This involves ensuring waivers have been submitted, making volunteer name badges, distributing t-shirts, and directing volunteers to their designated positions. Heaters will be available, but we suggest bringing a jacket in case of cooler weather. Please arrive 15 minutes early to your scheduled shift to become familiar with the check in process.
Exhibit Area Directors
All art vendors have specific placements on the festival grounds. For Set up on Friday and Saturday: You will be referencing maps and providing directions to art vendors as to where they will set up their booths. For Tear Down on Sunday: Assist by directing art vendors how best to proceed to their booths spaces for tear down.

Directional Support
You will be dispatched in pairs at our entrance gates welcoming guests to the festival, counting the number of guests who come through the gates, informing all guests of the QR code for the festival directory and providing directions to the rest rooms. You are essentially ‘the face of the festival,’ so we ask that you do your best to ensure every guest is greeted pleasantly. You can smile and say “Hello, welcome to Phoenix Festival of the Arts!
VENDOR SUPPORT (RELIEF)
You will be providing short, 10-15 minute breaks to vendors by watching their booths. At check-in, you will be given a two-way radio. If a vendor is in need of a break, you will be contacted by two-way radio and asked to sit at the assigned booth. After the vendor returns, please radio to let the command center know that the vendor has returned. Please return the radio to the check-in area once your shift is over.
FAMILY ZONE HELPERS
You will be assisting families in craft and art activities. These activities may include a family community mural, Youth Art Show, and a make-and-take activity.
GENERAL AREA CLEAN UP
You will be walking around the festival grounds collecting any materials left behind including zip ties, signs, and art supplies. Please wear closed-toed shoes.
BEST IN SHOW RECEPTION GREETERS
You will be welcoming guests, collecting tickets, assisting with wrist bands, informing all guests of the QR code for the festival directory and providing directions to the rest rooms.
